Upskill Hour Presents: Bouncing back into a post-COVID workplace
June 3 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pmFree
About the presenter:
Dave Burt is the founder of SALT Sport and Life Training. SALT began in 2015 and is now the leading provider of high quality, interactive education sessions into sporting clubs and businesses.
Dave was a successful sportsman in his day as well as a teacher, coach, counsellor and Chaplain. Before forming SALT, Dave attended 7 sporting clubs after they had lost people to suicide. The recurring message in each club was, ‘We never saw it coming’. This led Dave to begin SALT so that people could have these essential conversations long before a tragedy occurred.
Since then Dave has co-designed dozens of courses around culture and leadership, wellbeing and mental health, respect and equality and far more.
These courses are highly successful in businesses because they build upon the principles of sport in a way that resonates and makes sense to the average Australian worker.
What will be covered?
2020 changed the way we now work and live. As people return to work, they come back differently and workplaces need to adapt. In this session, Dave will explore some really interesting research that explains why it is that around 50% of people after a trauma end up worse off many years later, while the other 50% end up better off. There are 5 essential differences between the 2 types of people, and which of these people each of us becomes is a matter of choice. This is a powerful and practical message that will enable workplaces to build on 2020 so as to become stronger and better than ever before.
